I also wanted something different.FRC Frames for Sportster & Big Twin Engines (I have about $8000 total in the bike as it stands today). I already had the donor bike, so I knew I could do it on the cheap. If it's strictly a matter of $$$ and you think you're gonna be jonesing for a big twin, you should probably just wait and get the big twin. BT on the left and sportster on the right. There are frame differences to allow belt / chain clearance. On my build, I was able to use the motor and the front end but I already had a softail front end on my sportster.Īs for changing to a BT motor later on, it's possible but you'll only be able to do it if you get a right side drive tranny. With a late model, you can probably swap the front end but if you go with much over 34 degree rake, you're going to have to go with longer forks anyhow. Most of the parts are not going to transfer over. He currently makes them to fit up to a 200 but he's thinking about setting up a 250 jig soon. The guy I got mine from will build it to any rake / stretch you like. There are softail frames available that will take a sportster engine.
